Usage Paths

TIM Studio can be used in various scenarios.

Quick forecast

If you just want to predict N next values from your data set straight away then use of RTInstantML is the way to go. It is not required to create 'Model Building Definition', nor build the model from it. User only need to click "flash" icon next to data set in "Forecast" screen and specify how many steps need to be predicted. In a few moments values are calculated.

In TIM Studio users will use:

  • Datasets
  • Forecasting

Back-testing and experiments

To gain confidence in data, and/or models users may want to run experiments. This will allow them to see several useful information, e.g. which predictors play vital role at which times, how model changes when training interval changes, how well model performs on different out of sample intervals, what is accuracy for individual situations etc.

In TIM Studio users will use:

  • Datasets
  • Model building definition
  • Experiments

Regular forecasting

Once you are ready to move into operations mode and automate forecasting with your Model building definition (and model built on it), you will use 'Forecasting' screen.

Click '+' plus icon next data set, select particular model building definition, then respective model. Afterwards specify details for points to be predicted. In a few moments TIM calculates prediction using your specific model.
