Triggering pipelines

This part of the orchestration solution templates illustrates how to run an Azure Data Factory pipeline on schedule.

  1. Let’s login to Azure Data Factory. You should see welcome screen similar to the one on the image below. In the left pane go to the “Author” tab.

  2. Select the pipeline you want to run on schedule.

  3. We can create a trigger by clicking on "Add trigger" -> "New/Edit". In the new "Add triggers" window click on "Choose trigger" -> "New".

  4. In the "New trigger" window that appears fill in name of the trigger. Then, set "Type" to "Schedule". For this type of trigger you have to set the "Start Date" from which the trigger will be active and "Recurrence" interval. You can optionally set also end date until which the pipeline will be active. The last thing to do is to set the "Activated" option to "Yes" - this will activate the trigger right after it is created.

    After clicking on "OK" you have to fill the parameters that will be used by the trigger. Then, click "OK" again.

  5. Click on "Publish all" in the upper pane to save the changes.

  6. You can see the runs of your pipeline from the "Author" tab in the left pane.
