Importing pipelines

Azure Data Factory allows you to easily upload pipeline templates from a local file. Here is a short guide on how to do this from the Azure Data Factory UI.

  1. Login to Azure Data Factory. You should see welcome screen similar to the one on the image below. In the left pane go to the “Author” tab.

  2. In the "Factory Resources" pane, click on plus sign and add new pipeline from template.

  3. Click on "Use local template" and select the .zip file from your computer. After selecting the file a new subwindow should appear.

  4. Before importing the pipeline, user has to create all the Azure resources and linked services that are used in the pipeline. We can see them on the right side under "User inputs". In this example there is only one resource called Azure Function that has to be created. After filling the resources, import the template by clicking on "Use this template" button.

  5. The last step is to save the pipeline by clicking on "Publish all" button in the upper pane.
